Witches don't come in colours. But it is generally considered that a "White witch" casts only spells to the good. But in fact any witch who believes in the rede and the 3-fold law will only cast spells for good.
It is very discouraging to see all the answers from people who have very little knowledge about witches but seem to come across as they know it all based on what they read from a biased book or are told by someone else.

Green witches R also in this category, we do a lot 4 the planet etc . there R a lot of books and web sites devoted 2 the subject, also natural witchcraft. Dont B misled by ppl telling U that all witches R bad ,this just isn't true.. Listen 2ppl who know about witchcraft as opposed 2 ppl who know nothing but have 2 have an opinion anyway... Blessed Be

A white witch is normally one who follows the tradition of Wicca and works only "light" spells. This is to do with the "threefold law" which states that anything you send out, you get back threefold. There is a viewpoint that there is no such thing as a white witch since that defeats the duality intrinsic to Witchcraft itself.

many people use the term White witch, ot White Light Pagan. to imply that they are not evil, and that they are not devil worshipers.
in truth they are just the same as the rest of us Pagans and witches. the color white is associated with Good in our society. so it is used by some to set themselves apart. even in Pagan communities a White light witch is known as someone that holds themselves to a very strict moral standard. they cast magic only for themselves, of for thoes that ask, and never cast any magic that would interfere with the free will of another.

According to Anton Lavay and the Satanic Bible, there is no such thing as white witchcraft or white witches. Supposedly a white witch uses spells only for good and never to harm. As previously mentioned, even the founder of the First Church of Satan and author of the Satanic Bible knows there is no such thing as white witchcraft. On this the Bible is in agreement
