just dab gently with nail varnish remover, dabbing the residue with clean cotton wool. continue untill its all gone.

Nail varnish remover is the best I have found but it is best when the varnish is still wet. It may take a few attempts but dab with kitchen towel soaked in the remover and make sure you have pleanty of tissue or an old towel undernith the stain else you will stain whatever is under it.

You can put some petrol on it and then show it fire, this completely takes off any type of marks just be careful thet you're not wearing the clothes when you do it.
