just so you know,
i understand that those are short for the real names!
I listen to all those bands.
i was just wondering why people dont say taking back sunday instead of tbs or my chemical romance instead of mcr. its not like its really that hard to say the words.

um, because they're acromyms for the full names... (ie: mcr= my chemical romance...just fyi...)
and the academy is... is hardly "emo".

TBS- Taking Back Sunday
P!ATD- Panic! at the Disco [hate it]
FOB- Fall Out Boy [hate it]
TAI- The Academy Is...
HH- Hawthorne Heights
You can abbreviate any artist/band's name if you felt like it.
Then there are bands like HIM and AFI.
They go by those names but they stand for His Infernal Majesty and A Fire Inside.

its just so much easier to type (but dont say) P!ATD then panic.....ya know?
and some....actually most of those bands arent exactly emo. theyre more alternative.

Only lazy people actually inital them because they don't wont to say/write the whole word. I advise you to say the whole name or you will sound lazy and it will seem like you don't appreciate the band enough to say the name.
