Hi, hope this helps....... Ill give you the link, its best.
However a triangle equal 1/2 the base, times the height.
So, obviously, you need, if your trying to figure out the answer for a specific triangle, those things, base, height (dimensions in general..) Best, Dave

Hi. There is a right triangle which has sides of 3", 4" and 5". The two sides 3 and 4 get multiplied to make 12 square inches and this is cut in half by the 5 " hypotenuse. 6 square inches is the answer.

There's not enough information.
The area of a triangle is
A = (1/2)bh, where b is the base and h is the height.
**IF** the base is 3 and the height is 4, the area of the triangle would be
A = (1/2)(3)(4)
A = (1/2)(12)
A = 6

Area of a right triangle is 1/2 * L * H as it is 1/2 of a rectangle.
In this case, 6.

Brad's answer is clearly insufficient.
You did not give enough information. What kind of triangle? If a scalene, what length is the third side? If isosceles, which side is like the third side?

If it is a triangle you would have to multiply by the base and divide by 2.
