You can take your earrings out after 6 weeks. If you want to play it safe though and make sure your holes don't close up, wait an extra 2 weeks.

You can take them out and change the earrings after 6 weeks but I wouldn't leave them out over night.
I remember when I first got my ears pierced the earring backs would always poke into my head behind my ear when I slept and would cause sores. So after the 6 weeks was up I went and got some sterling silver hoops where the post part slips into a hollow space in the hoop. They were so much more comfortable to sleep in since there wasn't any post sticking out.
You should really leave earrings in for at least 6 months to allow the area to heal completely. But if your problem is those painful posts try the hoops like I did. It made a world of difference.

I was told at the ear piercing establishment, that I could take my earrings out in a month. Until then I was supposed to simply gently twist the earrings while they were in my ear, and put alcohol on a q-tip swab and clean the site of the earring hole. I followed these directions, and never had a problem. Until I changed the earrings that were injected in my ears at the time of the piercing. Then there was a huge problem! My ears started itching uncontrollably. I went to the doctor and he told me I was having an allergic reaction to the nickel in the earrings I had bought. So I had to purchase all hypoallergenic earrings, which means no fake earrings. I have to buy earrings that are 18kt gold or silver - or else. You may be experiencing a similar problem.

You should try taking them out for an hour and seeing if they start to close up. Then try 2 and keep going until you can do it for the 8 or so hours you sleep. I've had my first holes for 9 years and if I leave my earrings out for more than 24 hours they start to close up. So it really just depends on your body.

I'd say sleep in them for a couple more weeks. Im pretty sure u can change your earrings now but u should still sleep in them so that they dont close. If its uncomfortable try changing to small studs.

hey
well, you have to wait for 6 weeks before you take them off. but when i took them off with the wait of 6 weeks, they started bleeding. its because i didn't put enough of the cleaning liquid daily. so if you didn't apply the cleaning liquid often, its best to wait for another week or two and apply the cleaning liquid with the wait.
if you did put cleaning liquid often and the 6 weeks are up, you can take them off! it's a bit hard to take the earrings off at first so you should use lotion to make it slippery and twist it slowly off. once you got them off, put the cleaning liquid on your earring. that's my trick.
