To know how many ton,s I am hauling in my truck I have to log every load and total it at the end of the day and see what my average per load is and charge time for each place I haul to!

I need to figure out how much of my sales are tax when given only the total including the tax. I need to figure out how many acres a golf fairway is with no better measuring device that the fact that one of my paces = three feet. Finding out how many shares of stock can be bought with a fixed amount. There is a lot of math that's taught in school that is never used in normal life (and I am a math teacher yet still freely admit that). People learn math not so much for the math, but for the ability to learn, to problem-solve, and to exercise and develop their brain.

i do all the bookeeping at home and at work, i'm on the financial team at my church...and i do math homework with both of my kids.

i used it (awhile back) to build the missile system for the trident nuclear submarine- luckily no one has been daft enough to use it since.

I calculate my next paycheck and my tax. I also use it to calculate my future and plan my finance.
