I cant figure out who is going to be the opening day starting shortstop for the Astros. I think it will be either Adam Everett or Mark Loretta

Everett.

Loretta was signed as a backup to Biggio who will need rest every now and again, and to play 3rd base if Ensberg underperforms again this year. Loretta will still see time at short as well.

Everett. Loretta will move around the infield as a back-up and give Biggio days off. Don't be surprised to see Loretta pinch-hit for Everett in late close game situations as well since Everett's bat is not so great. They need his glove too bad to not start him.

Mark Loretta because we have Craig Biggio at 2nd and Morgan Ensberg at 3rd.

It will be Everett. Look for Loretta to move all over the infield until Biggio gets his 3,000th hit....and then to replace him if he isn't playing well.
