Depeche Mode
for many many reasons, some of which are already mentioned by people before me.
Depeche Mode has a lot more depth and feeling. Who can beat Martin Gore s romantic nihilism ;)

Both are very good, but I think Depeche Mode comes out on top - I think their music has grown over the years, yet still has that same essence that they started with. Duran was hindered with lineup changes and such (of course with all of the originals back together, who knows what is to come)
My vote goes to DM.

That would depend on my mood. If I'm in a sullen mood, then Depeche Mode. If I'm in a "running free" kind of mood, then Duran Duran.

Depeche Mode all the way. They are 1000% more original, they have pretty much kept the same members for the past 25 years, and they stand the test of time better. Plus Dave and Martin can sing rings around Simon.

I like them both, but if I had to choose I'd say Depeche Mode since they're a bit darker.
