I'm graduating next year and don't know what I want to do. I've been leaning towards orthopedic medical device development (knee replacements, prosthetic limbs, etc) but am curious what else is out there. I live in Jersey. Thanks.

well a mechanical engineer can be linked to save lives... maybe not directly, but when you work do everything right so that nothing goes wrong with your machine. knee replacements well you can severly impact a persons life in a very good way. it lets them not loose the chance to walk or just live a normal life. and the same idea with prosthetic limbs. anything medical would be really good. how about working on a cure for alzhiemers? that would make sooo many happy becuase their mother or father would still remember them.

well i dont know...you might be taking the question a bit too deep. But just don't go around on a rampage, abusing your wife and kids..postive impact is just the opposite of any negative impact, to me that is. lol. but maybe you and some other creative engineers can come up with some interesting concepts. And save or better some lives.
