I am in FPS (future problem solving) and I am supposed to think of how to stop people being prejudice to homeless people in different categories. The problem two of the categories I don't really see the solution idea for that category. Here are the categories if you could just please help me out by either of a challenge related to this category or even a solution. Remember I am trying to stop people being prejudice. Thank you so much it means the world to me!

How to stop people from being prejudice to homeless people
1. What will they feel if they were homeless too
2. Remove the word homeless to "future homeowners"
3. more awareness to public (statistics, cause and effects, current and future problems, how people can help etc)
4. Micro-economy

Most people do not know how close they possibly are to being homeless. A loss of job.any catastrophe that prevents them from paying rent or their mortgage. People look down on other people who maybe sleep in the back of a truck and camper(if they are lucky) Everyone tends to take for granted many things and blot out what they see as disgusting and not going to happen to them.Take the time to talk to the next person you see living in one of these situations about what happened in their life. Hope this helps. I wish to add more input after reading what you really need. I think defense you must mean military. Well I think prejudice comes from the fact that homeless people do not serve in the military very often. The prejudice comes from that most people believe that it is their duty to support their country. Second you mentioned environment, well in my area of California they often clean out camps of homeless living in lean to's and tents, there are no sanitary conditions. The prejudice comes from the trash and other body wastes that are not disposed of properly

You can not stop people from being prejudicial. Prejudice in general term is a neutral notion, meaning it has neither a positive nor a negative connotation. In sociology, the word prejudice is the negative ideology that precedes the negative behavior (discrimination). To overcome any type of social prejudices and discrimination, the solution is knowledge. In your particular example, it'd be knowledge about homelessness. Educate people about why people become homeless, explain how certain social forces push certain population to live in poverty, or how the welfare system in the US is strutured to keep poor people poor, etc... Poverty or homelessness is never a choice that people make on their own.

you've not put the categories here yet. But my answer would be to explain how the homeless person got there, and how similar they are to 'normal' people, we could all have ended up in that position with less family support or bad luck etc.

there is no way to prevent people from having prejudices
there are ways to minimize the number of homeless
draft the homelss into the military
arrest and jail the homeless, make being homeless illegal
provide nearly free housing, this is done in the US, its not too successful

Just load them with a ton of information (books, etc.) and do tours with schools, etc. stop the prejudice against them before it starts. And then for people who really want to/ need to get rid of the prejudice, talking/ touching, etc. excercises.
