I read answers on here all the time that are like "We have a looooooooooong way to go until we're equal to men" and I'm just like.....WHAT? Women have every single right that a man does- and they should. But this idea that they're somehow still unequal does nothing other than reflect this hatred that feminism has toward men- yes, it does. Women will sit (some) and go on and on about all the things that they don't have, can't have, etc. and thats fine. But it becomes an issue when they think its because they are oppressed as women rather than just accept it as an inevitability due to society that will never change and a few innate differences between men and women that DO (thank god) exist. Sure, some women are still thought of the girl who cooks and cleans. I'm sure thats tough. But you know what? Men are still thought of as useless fathers and can't get child rights even when they should.

I mean, there are inequalities- but that is a part OF it. Men and women are equal but not equivalent. They are first and foremost both human beings (people never seem to remember that) but there are slight differences that will never go away. Women, for the most part, need to accept this. So do men. There are some issues women have that still need rectification, as there are for men- custody rights for example. But for the most part, what needs to change is this OPPRESSION MENTALITY that they have- it is 98% non-existent anymore. Its been replaced often by an oppression of men. What do you have to say about this? Please respond constructively and with intelligence. (Some class would be appreciated also.)

To Yay Me- that is my point! That is my point! There are injustices, and we need to fight the ones we can win and accept the ones we never will.

Sounds like you have not checked the Department of Labor's earning statistics. Women are STILL UNDERPAID for the same job that a man does, and, are still thought of as inferior in the workplace. Wake up.

First of all here is a few things to think about.
Men and women are different.. Neither is superior, just different. For example studies show that men are better in math and women are better in communication then men. However most TV and radio stations have men anchors. Also....
Why aren't there ever any women author's listed when they mention classic American literature? There is Steinbeck, Hemmingway, etc..
Why isn't there one American Holiday honoring a specific woman?
Why aren't any women on US dollars. Sure they gave us Susan B. Anthony but the it was a coin and odd shapped... due to fail from the onset.
Why is it that women still get custody of the children most of the time?
Why is it that we still need to check off male or female on applications?
I believe that all people are equal. Not all women are good mothers, and not all men are bad fathers. There are good and bad in both... however we are not equal.

I personally believe that women are equal to men, at least that's how it is suppose to be. Now I don't go for that one sex is better than the other crap. Both sexes have a lot to offer. Unfortunately, many of the men who believe that women should be subservient to them still hold positions of power and influence. We must remember that women began to strongly fight for Their rights in the 1920s and granted many of them in th 1940s. Historically speaking, that was not that long ago. Many of the men that oppressed them are still alive today and have passed those values to their friends, and family as well. These people will have to be re-educated to think differently because they were conditioned to think like they do now. It is similar to blacks still not being treated equally. Likewise, the civil rights movement was not that long ago. The bigots are still around. Time will change both of these issues. It just hasn't been enough time yet to fully integrate women and men to the same playing filed. No one today believes the world is flat, but it took centuries for that belief to die. One day men and women will totally be equal. In the meantime ladies, PLEASE do not get mad at men; EDUCATE them!!!

I think women have just as many rights as men if not more.
We are different from men and its supposed to be that way. I really think at this point women should stop pushing it. I think we have more rights that we can handle , considering society isn't fighting to be equal with all the responsibilities women have had in the household in the past and present. Women are totally stressed out because of it. I think women dont get paid as much as men, but i think its in the old order of things. Men are supposed to be the main bread winner! Society has given women the same opportunities as men, no one said society was going to clean up the fact that we've bitten off more than we can chew... And we as women have to think about the rights that men dont have. He still cant have a baby if he chooses. I know guys that are in their forties and never married or had babies but want children, they cant just have a one night stand with a women and go off into the sunset and have an family (without that person knowing about it) like we can.
If a woman gets pregnant she has the right to terminate if she chooses, but what if the father doesn't want to terminate, where"s his rights??? So I agree, I think we're all even now.

Well a major obstacle is female competitiveness. Rather than support each other we fight each other.
Unfortunately we are programmed this way so I wonder if we will ever be equal to men. Women have always had to compete as going back to the beginning of time men were supposed to keep the species going by impregnating available females. If a woman had sagging breasts, dull skin basically anything that suggested she had "mated" before or was in ill health, the man would simply look for another healthy specimen.
This sounds crazy but it is true! Therefore as biologically we have a primal instinct to compete for mens attention and they hold all the power, we continue to try to outsmart and beat each other. Obviously some women are just bbitches but even us nice gals do this unintentionally at times. Don't expect an old girl's network any time soon!!!!!

OK. Maybe you aren't one of the guys who think of women just as your personal servant. But you have to keep in mind that coming from a girls point of view, I have to say that some women aren't treated equally. Yes there are differences between men and women, we tend to be more emotional. But don't make it sound like the only women complaining about this are hairy, overbearing women who don't have a chance at getting a guy. As for the custody thing, people usually need to be with their mothers. There are mothers, however need not be trusted. We don't in a major sense have the same rights that men do. I do not think men are useless sperm banks. And not all men are bad. But you have to keep in mind all the men who are. You don't seem like a closed minded person, so try to think of it from our point of view. There are injustices for both genders.

certain, to a large volume. many human beings communicate about that there are fewer women human beings politicians than adult adult males. even if that is incorrect or precise is yet another challenge. the point is there are some distance fewer women human beings operating for political place of work than adult adult males. yet many feminists develop hell over the actual undeniable actuality that maximum politicians, rather on the nationwide element, are adult adult males. that is barely one party. equivalent threat should be what we shoot for, and finally we are going to in all likelihood get equivalent effect. it will take awhile, notwithstanding it is no longer frequently a good element to rigidity the challenge.

WOW!!! I like you already. That is a lot of information and I do believe I agree with you, and I'm a man.
I would like to add one thing and that is that women who think they are been held down by men can only be done so if the woman allows it. One more thing when you thanked God you spelled God with a small g.

You must be talking about the United States, since I don't see how you could say that men and women have equal rights in many middle eastern, african, or asian cultures. In Saudi Arabia, women still can't vote.
So in the United States, women and men are equal according to your "facts":
*Men and women receive the same amount of education, same types of jobs, same amount of pay? That's why the majority of the poor are women and children in this country? Check out the US Dept of Labor for the educational level, type of job and pay of the average US women.
*Men and women now equally care for their homes and their children? The average American man does more than just "help out"; they do 50% of the housework and childcare?
*Men and women now equally rape kids? rape their own kids? the FBI is wrong about the 97% male abuser stat? The FBI refuses to arrest women who rape kids? Doesn't sound like the FBI...
*Men and women equally batter each other? Women are now beating the crap out of guys every day? every hour? the State police and FBI stat's are wrong again? No one will arrest women?
*Men and women equally rape each other? Women are getting away with rape every day, and only guys are going to prison for it? Police refuse to arrest women? Or are most of the male rapists in prison innocent, railroaded by men-hating women?
*Men and women equally murder their spouses/ex-spouses? Just as many women are murdering their spouses as men do? But the police are letting them get away with it?
There are serious problems with male violence in our society. Men still are the primary perpetuators of child rape, teen rape, adult rape, spousal abuse, and spousal murder.
Maybe that's an innate difference you can live with, but it isn't great for all the women who are being raped or killed. You live in your fantasy land. Women have to live in the real world.
