Why are they such p-u-s-s-i-e-s? And why do people love them so much?

I think the idea of an "emo kid" or the emo bands nowadays is very misunderstood..cuz you see, an emo kid is just a kid that likes emo stuff, (i.e. clothes, emo hair styles, and usually emo music aswell), so its just a style or a fad as they say, in the fashion world really and its one that just happens to have been inspired from emo bands. The kid inside is just like any other kid. And at the same time, every indivudual is different, so you see, a person who likes emo music, usually has understanding for all the frustration and feelings that you often hear in emo songs.
I think most "emos" are introverted too, so they dont go into bothering to explain themselves, you know. So for some reason they´re so hated for it..i dont know why people say they´re loved cuz lol i really dont know a single person that approves of it, and they not only dislike it, they hate with a passion..so lol.
I can understand that something being very popular and then everybody going and doing and it just being everywhere you look can get on one´s nerves..but you know thatz just how the media world works..in a couple of years time, they´ll be having something else that´ll be just as loved as the emo-trend (loved by the emos, that is lol) is now.
That all being said, let me just say, that emo bands are..well just that; emo bands, they´re genre of music comes from emotions, deep feelings...and thats just their style...the same as any other kind of band and their genre of music. Like take metal for example, people in metal bands have that whole goth/dark atmosphere thing going around them and their songs are mostly about rage and internal agony and things like that...and there are plenty of people who dress like metalheads and so you see, its just about personal preference.
Really..its just like with anything else, and i dont mean just in the music industry. So hey, i can tell it makes you mad, but just dont let the reasons why its annoying to you get to you, ok? Just enjoy your own kind of music and have fun. =)
And as to why emo bands are popular right now..well there´s no reason really..other than for the usual reasons things become popular..people see a change..they like it..they embrace and the media and advertizing helps with the marketing of it. And so I think this phase, like all the phases in the fashion and popularity world, will eventually fade with time.
So all in all, and in my personal opinion, i just say live and let live. Im sorry if this was not the kind of answer you were looking for, but im just being honest. So i hope this helps.

people call what i listen to emo, but really it isnt. Im not any bit emo either.
those that DO like emo music(the kind that really IS emo), well thats because they think that the artist has something in common with them, like they fit in with the band.
now my question is, why DONT you like emo people? what have they ever done to you?

well, being emo and being in a band is basicly say "hey i suck at being a person, but i need money. oh ya, and the people below me that are saying that there are really good emo bands out there... well, hate to break it to you, but anyone can can whine and or scream into the microphone. basicly what im trying to say is that EMO BANDS SUCK!

MCR,P!ATD,FOB,TBS,AFI,etc....
you shouldn't judge people for their taste.that's just wrong.
