all amphibians are carnivores; like most other carnivores, they must hunt and eat their prey.

They catch food by stalking their prey and then quickly running at it and grabbing it with their mouths. Amphibians can't chew their food, so they swallow it whole just like a frogs do. They eat small insects, worms and some larger salamanders will even eat frogs and baby mice.

I believe some of them stick out their tongue, fast enough to catch a fly on the sticky goo.
