There are times where I find it impossible to come out with something to converse with my friend or anyone I know. I did my best. Sometimes, it's impossible(not just difficult) for me to find to good topic to converse.

I am asking this question because I needed some advice, and I am unable to do so.

That very question could start several interesting conversations. Lately, I've been starting with "Guess what I found on Yahoo! Answers today?...."

HI. I think you shouldn't be looking for " good" topics - I guess any topic will do to start of with?
-Do you have to start the conversation? Let the other one do it too sometimes. Silence is OK
-The best starters are topics about something you are both seeing or experiencing - Maybe you are boh geting wet from the rain - or both waiting for the next bus to come.
-Another topic is about the other person. How are you? What have you done the last week- there are bound to be things coming out of this.
-and last but not least -You can talk about yourself-and things that are hapening in your life.

The best ways to start a converstaion is to ask the other person a question or two. If you know their name try the FORM formula.
F is for family
O is for occupation
R is for relaxation
M is for motivation
Of course if you dont know their name ask that first.
Sample questions are F Where do you live? Do you have any brothers or sisters? etc.
O what do you do for a living/work? etc etc.
Most people enjoy talking about themselves providing you ask the questions.

I suggest you read a copy of the book 'How to win friends and Influence People' by Dale Carnegie. Try your local library if you dont want to buy a copy.
Dale carnegie explains all these sorts of questions. I found it invaluable and read it at least once a year to refresh my ideas.

Hey bog-man....I start conversations like that now too....funny. Some people look at me weird because they don't know about this place...oh well...

O.K back to the question...What kinds of things do you like?
You are in society and culture...And after pearing in your Q&A, looks like you are interested in...
Psychology or human nature
animals, and the abuse of them
a touch of politics
and well...food.
I could see how discussing vegan and vegetarian lifestyle is not going to suit the masses of people you come across...
The rest seem perfectly reasonable conversation starters (your questions)
If you look in my Q's you'll notice how I come up with "hypothetical" fights between animals or presidents...you know just be goofy....Like if a beaver got in a fight with a skunk who would win.....I am 23, so yeah it's immature...but it's fun.
I used to be real shy...still sometimes am but I try and relax more when I am out, and just have fun. I try not to take myself so seriously...I talk about animals, history, politics, current events,...ooh yeah current events are always good...keep up on em..you know like see your friend at work and you say "Damn Bush" and he replies something to the same effect and that initial adwardness is over. If you don't watch the news, start. It only takes 15-20 minutes to get all the headlines a day.
Do you ponder the human ability with your friends? (you had some question to this effect...just don't remember exact one) Or just with us on here?
I know I kinda rambled...sorry...Hope I helped.
