2 litre = 2000 millilitre

so 2000 -500 = 1500 millilitre or 1.5 litres

1 litre = 1000ml
2 litre = 2000ml
2000 - 500 ml = 1500 ml = 1.5 litres
So 1.5 litres are left.

NB Litres has been given European spelling ---I hope you don`t mind, but I am in Europe!
