I have a Bank of America cashier's check that I am going to use to pay an appraiser. I just realized I put the wrong company name on the check. Will I be able to cancel it at the bank and get a new check?

If you have already given the check to the company, it is very possible that they have accepted it as is and their bank as well accepted it.. that is if the name wasnt totally off. However if you still have the check in your possession take the cashiers check and the yellow copy you received (as proof of purchase) back to any banking center and have the teller reissue the check to the right named company. He/she will just use the "wrong" cc to pay for the new one. Take ID (it's most appreciated by ALL tellers :)I would not suspect that the teller would charge you a fee.. he/she should do it as a courtesy. If it were me, I would take it back to the same bank and possibly even the same teller, especially if you are well known there and they will remake it for you no problem! This is a common error and is EASILY fixed in a short matter of time.

you can (asap) thats whats great about a cashiers check verse a money order, just go back to the bank and tell them you would like to cancel it and there might be a fee, any where from $0-40 so keep that in mind , if you have not then just take it back to the bank it is from and have them replace the cc with the right name on it. If you already gave it to the company and they cashed it , there is not much recourse.
