The UAE is a country in and of itself. There are no other countries within it . It is comprised, however, of seven emirates (territories controlled by an emir, or Arab monarch) and each has its own hereditary emir: Abu Dhabi, Ajmān, Dubai, Fujairah, Ras al-Khaimah, Sharjah, and Umm al-Quwain. Abu Dhabi is the capital and the president of the UAE resides there (he is also Abu Dhabi's hereditary emir). The country is between Saudi Arabia and Oman and just below Qatar. This map should help:

I'm pretty sure that the United Arab Emirates IS a country. I think it's located near Kuwait and Saudi Arabia.
