Ethniticy? I'm Mexican American and I freaking hate it when ppl automatically assume I support illegal immigration and amnesty and want open borders. When in fact it's the complete opposite!
Is there anyone else who has dealt with this? How can we get ppl to see the REAl hard working, patortic Hispanic/Latino Americans?

I'm not Hispanic but I know what you mean. I have heard other people on Y! Answers say the same thing in the Immigration category.
Its like, just because you are Hispanic, they think you are supposed to support other Hispanics when they break the law. It is stupid. You are on the right side of the issue. Don't let anyone make you feel bad about it.

Illegally immigrating to any country in most cases is done by desperate humans whose living circumstances are unbearable in their own country. The true issue is about empathy and compassion. We as legal Latino in the US are very fortunate. These immigration policies apply to Asians, Africans, Europeans and the rest of the world. Ethnicity is not the issue but what bring them here and what are they contributing to this nation. We Latinos don't have to prove anything to anyone in this country. The evidence is out there in everyone of us that wake up everyday to work hard and decently for our free way of living.
Should borders be close? Yes. Close to injustice, racism and hate. 100 % with you on that

so what are you against..if you are against immigrants you are a shame for our race..Im southamerican not even mexican but I feel bad to hear they get killed by the border patrol and minutemen..racist bastards who take an adavantage over the law backing them up..I dont agree...but there is over 20 million of immigrants here..you can not send them back..just create a law more understanding to the needs of this country and what those immigrants have contributed to the american economy..this country was built up over blood of slaves and native indians..and usa took over what they wanted from MExico..we do not have anything to proove..we work hard in this country serve the army, pay taxes..and for those illegals paying taxes that can not collect that money back,,here its some income for us treasury..make them all pay taxes give them fines..I bet every illegal would be happy to pay more than a 1000 dollars for every year they have been here illegally..the social security will be full of money..spain legalized illegals, italy legalized millions but the racism and segregation in this country help a lot to discriminate against human beings..we are not dogs..perhaps god will punish america with natural disasters...only time will tell...
