Hi. There will be either an opening on the bottom that you slide open or, on some mice, the solid part of the top below the buttons just slides back.

Sorry, yet when that isn't any longer the batteries, and the on change is on, then you truly've gotten to take it to a professional. Oh, you may attempt taking the batteries out, and seeing if there is dirt and crud interior. also, examine the guide, and see if the worry-capturing section promises help.

open the cover remove the batteries making note which way they are then reinstall the new ones the same as the old ones were then replace the cover

I bought mine from HP and there were instructions in the bos, it came in. You can also check the website and see if they have any instructions.
