Yoshi's Island DS: Level 2-8...HELP???!!!?

On the last level of world 2 in Yoshi's Island DS, how do you beat the big flower munchy thingy at the end? I've tried breaking its teeth several times on the boulder, and feeding it eggs and stuff. What do I do???!!!
