Why does Rory drop out of Yale? Is it because she can't handle the overload or is it because she wants to go to a smaller school this time? Please I need a thorough explanation.

Rory drops out of Yale because at the end of her internship with Mr Huntzburger (Logan's father) he tells her she doesn't have what it takes to be a good journalist, she doesn't have the fire and she always just does what she's told. She gets discouraged and starts questioning herself and is afraid to face whether that's really true or not, so she shuns Yale (She eventually goes back).

She drops out of Yale because she questions the fact that she will make a good journalist, that's her dream job, that's what she wants to do for the rest of her life, that's why she's at Yale and that's why she works for Yale's newspaper. When Logan's father, a mogul in this business, tells her she doesn't have what it takes to be a good journalist at the end of the internship he offered her, she feels really worried about her future and no one can talk her out of quitting Yale.
