The 163 will come up to my chin but I think it would be better if it was up to my bottom lip or so since I'm going to places in the rockies and canada where there are nice big long runs and I can do long carving. Should I get a 166 custom instead of the 163w vapor?????

It sounds like it should be ok for you but possibly the 166 might be a bit more stable if you are into long carving. Alot of it comes down to personal choice on things like this, the shorter board you will be able to throw arouned a bit more whilst the longer board will be more stable at high speeds. The whole theroy about you should buy a board that comes up to your chin is basically a guide for begineers and people starting off and is no way a rule set in stone, just a good starter point really before you progress with your riding and learn whether you prefere longer or shorter boards. if you have the flow, i would definately get the vapor since it is only 3 cm difference, and the vapor is a waay better board than the custom, but ive never liked the custom anyways

size dosent realy matter i have ridden on many many sizes and for me i am 6'2 and 140 lbs and i am riding on a World Industries Red Neck 149cm its all about what feels good to you and what you can perform in. i mean if you can ride on a board that is about 3 cm larger than your stance and it is comfortable and you can perform on it then rock on its compleatly based on what feels good to you.
