I have an assignment in English 12 Honors to write a personal essay. I need to describe myself. It needs to include information about my friends, family, passions, etc. What would be a good way to start this essay?

I like to start out with a random thought from the day. It doesn't have to be earth-shattering, but just something that you were thinking about. And don't make the essay "about yourself"... that would take way too long to write. Choose one part of yourself. One belief. One idea. What do you want to do in the world? What do you want to change? Why?
WHo do you want to be? Ask yourself a ton of questions until you find one you really feel passionate about answering.

I would start out with an introduction of yourself, maybe three sentences, and start the next paragraph with "I am passionate about".......... and explain in two or three paragraphs why, then I would conclude showing how family, friends, teachers, life experiences tie into this passion. My final paragraph would be on what I aspire to do in my future because of or with this passion as a driving force...
