I've found parachute pants and other such 80s clothing but it's all too large. I'm doing an experiment to see if cool 80s clothes would make today's kids laugh. Where can I purchase cool 80s clothes that would fit a teenager? Links would be nice.

We had white "painter" pants, flared pants and leather pants. The big thing is that the peasant look was in fashion and a lot of the clothes that are being sold in H and M like 3 tiered peasant skirts, mini skirts are all back and today's kids are wearing and paying for them.... they're not laughing.

Look on line for old 80's song videos, see the big hair and the big clothes.

Try Good Will and 2nd hand clothing stores, make friends with the owners and see what's cool. Some folks are still clearing out their 80's closets. Learn to sew and make things fit. Just remember things weren't skin tight in the 80's except for black leggings. (And aren't they back again?) We wore them under huge long (almost to the knees), sweaters that often had big bat-wing sleeves.

Good luck,

Guess what..one of the big 80's styles you can buy brand new! Straight and tight legged pants! My 10 year old thinks they're the ugliest things she's ever seen, which is what we thought about wide-leg pants in the 80's.We wanted so much for the ankles to be tight on our jeans that we even had a way of tucking and rolling them up a little to make them tighter!
Plain white canvas Ked shoes were popular for girls.I still see old ladies wearing them so I think they're still in stores.
The most popular hair was long with bad perms and big puffy teased bangs-lots of hairsray.
In the early-mid 80's really big, bright plastic earrings were popular. Also, gummy bracelets,a bunch of them on wrists AND ankles were big.My daughter has some so they must still be around, too.
Check out music videos by Bon Jovi and Madonna from the 80's for ideas.

They don't do hard physical labor outdoors, they eat better food, have cleaner living conditions, and the life span is longer, plus there are these things called facials, and lotions-yes, men in the movie industry use these things-and now a days you can have a 6 person sauna installed in your home for about 7 thousand $ all inclusive.

There are clothes from the 80's that are incorporated into today ~ they're just a bit tighter, and mostly for women.

Some bars still have 80's night. Bright colors that don't match, big hair...think "Fresh Prince of Bel Air" or "Miami Vice".

With me, it depended on my mood...some days would find me wearing chinos, a Polo shirt (collar up) and boat shoes (no sox)...other days would find me going more with the punk look...spiked hair, safety pins in my ears, etc...
