I suspect people will laugh but I'm not sure what that air thing in the kitchen is called. You know the thing you turn on right above the stove; it sucks all the steam and humid. I need to know what it's called. Thanks =)

It is an exhaust hood if its over the stove. Its an exhaust vent if its in the wall. The exhaust hood removes cooking odors while the exhaust vent removes air (smelly? air) from the area, Amn exhaust hood will probably contain filter media while the exhaust vent is usually staight thru to an outer area. such as an attic or outside wall.
