Now I am not crazy I am just wanting some feed back from this question, please.

Starting about 5 years ago I started gaining weigh slowly and when people would ask me why I was gaining weight I would tell them it was a social experiment on how the world treats overweight people- females to be exact. When the truth was I had actually gained weight because I got sick and as a result of that I got lazy. Over the years I have steadly gained weight and I am at the point to where I am ready to loose it. through out the years, constantly telling everyone it was a social experiment has really got me thinking that it would actualy be a good Thesis for my senior project.

What I ask you today is..... What would be a good way to go about writing this paper? Any ideas or suggestions would be much appreciated.

Okay for you paper:

Introduction
- Introduce your subject... something like negative correlation between weight and social standing. As you gain weight your social standing decreases. Then briefly summarize what you are doing and why you are doing it and what you plan to gain from this knowledge, and how this knowledge can help others.

Literature Review
- You definitly need to find a crap load of sources that have already covered your topic. Go to scholary articles about weight gain and self confidence.

Data and Methods
- Here you need to discuss how you processed your data, I don't know if you are using SPSS or what but give a clear definition of how you gained the weight and how the weight gain and societal impact is going to be measured.

Research Findings
- Explain how this has impacted your life and your relations with society. And what you have found. Give lots of examples.

Discussion and Conclusion
- Tell the reader how what you've found is important. Give your ideas for changing your findings in the future.

Hope that helps! Always remember to cite your sources.

There's actually a movie out about this; it's a movie about making a documentary. It's called To Be Fat Like Me.

You should probably start writing the paper with an itroduction talking about what you just talked about (the personal narrative) and how people have trated you. Then, move on to how society treats overweight people in general and the psychology behind that (how it's people's instinct to want to be around attractive people because of the primal need to mate with healthy people).

I'm sure you can figure out the rest after all that. :)

putting on weight is easy. It's Losing it which is the hard part. Good luck with that. Maybe you can write a how to lose 30kg in 10 days. Or maybe you can write a book how nicely people treat you when you are thin but put on a few kilos you better hide in the house for life

Well, you might as well get something out of it.
However, I gotta say, that's not the best idea I've ever heard for doing a social experiment.
One summer as teens my best friend (who is "overweight") and I both put in job applications at the same places, put down exactly the same references, job history and everything and I got 3X the call backs that she did....so yes, fat people are treated differently in American society solely because they are fat.
