probally not, because this war is far from over, FDR was the only president who had three full tearms in the whitehouse because it was in the middle of the second World War. This is not the case today, the war on iraq is more like Vietnam than a world war so a new president would probally be able to pick up where George W leavs off. But this war is not big enough to justify a third tearm, congress would not approve it, and i believe that the majority of the US citizens are against Bush at this point, I personally am not though.
The war IS calming down, more troups are commin home now than ever and colitiation forces are Iraqs own new government is becoming more strong and independent from us. It is just a matter of time untill they are totally on their own.

No it is not important who is in the white house. What is important is that the U.S. government act consistently and fairly. There is no way to "finish" a war on terror, so leaving Bush in office would be like creating a dictatorship. America managed to remain free and relatively safe for over 200 years without G.W. Bush I think we can get along just fine without him.

I can think of no reason compelling enough to want to abolish presidential term limits in order to re-elect George W. Bush. What makes you think he could even BE re-elected?

Let's see, there's two other items similar to that - which Republicans seem to have backed down on 1. The "Nukular" option on filibusters and 2. Unlimited spying power by the executive without court approval. Probably two of the smartest things the Repubs ever did considering Bush will hand the W.H. to a Democrat next election.

It's more important that term limits be protected, so another president can step in and finish this so-called "war on terror" once and for all. Bush is happy to see the status quo maintained.

you have a reasonable position and i agree with you but the problem is the liberals. they used the antagonism of the war to mask a carefully created power grab in 06. as you can see the first hundred hours were spent on insulating themselves with tax and spend to the point where theyre voting us territories that pay no income tax voting rights...and WOW...all but one are democrat..imagine that.
Until the power grab is over or until a gaffe is made or people wake up this problem will be around for a while. God help us all if the electorate doesnt wake up by 2008.

No it should not be abolished. WW2 had more than one President. Korea had more than 1 President. Vietnam have several Presidents. The American peoples support of a war is more important than the leadership that persue it.
