is it just a coincidence that all of the former players, who are now commentators or analysts, have won a Super Bowl? i don't even know if that is a fact that all the former players who are now commentators have won the Super Bowl but it sure seems like it. everyone that is on the NFL network, ESPN, etc, they all have won the super bowl.

do you think it's a requirement for former players who want to become a commentator to have won a super bowl?

it would be kind of pointless for someone to be talking about the superbowl as an expert without having gone to a superbowl.

For me, it extremely is Jim Kelly. What makes him stand out over something of the gamers to not win the super Bowl is the actuality that he led the Buffalo charges to 4 on the instant convention Championships and super Bowl appearances. in my opinion, Dan Marino is a exact 2nd.

Dan Marino, Boomer Esiason, Cris Collinsworth, and Chris Carter do not have Super Bowl wins, to name a few.

No, they don't have to have won a super bowl to be a broadcaster/announcer. Look at Dan Marino on CBS!

the networks need someone insightful and articulate to do the broadcasts...pat summerall ,dan dierdorf ,al michaels and kurt gowdy , all old school guys who did the broadcasts brilliantly for years and years and you would know them by voice even if you hadnt seen the screen...but lots of the announcers who are very insightful and articulate about the inner workings of the game dont have rings (tom jackson, ron jaworski...for example)
