Not really. These clowns are setting them selves up if they think they can really sing. This guy is just telling it like it is. These people sleep out on the sidewalk for 4 days and then wonder why they sound like sh*t to everyone except their deaf grandma. I mean come on...over 2/3 of these jackasses are there so they can get on T.V. Then they go on Larry King Live and cry that Simon is cruel. Only William Hong or what ever his name is ever made dime-one from being rejected.
If anyone has a problem with all of these retards showing up, they should go find that kid and put their foot in his ***, because he started this whole trend. The producers should put him on the payroll, as the rejects make for better T.V. than the real contestants. I know people who watch it for the dopes that can't sing, instead of the people who have real talent(Myself included)

At this point, not only is he being honest, but also kind of playing a character that the viewers are expecting ang actually want from him. And, in my opinion, it's not always the contestants that get the show ratings, but the chemistry between the judges.

And when Simon always says, "I'm not being rude, but..." I think that he means what he is about to say, he's not saying just to be an ***. He's saying it because he believes it.

He's a douchbag. That whole show is ridiculous. The people who make the show are average at best, and I use that term average very loosely. Those people pale in comparison to the abilties of people at Julliard, or Yale. If you want to see talent, true talent - go see a Broadway show. You will be blown away by the abilties of these fine men and women.

All people who audition for that show are out for fame, not for singing. Actually, the entire show is about fame - not singing. These people are in dire need of attention and this may or not be connected to mental disturbances. I feel sorry for these people.

Simon can be rude at times but he's honest. I won't lie to you, but with people who sing as bad as the people do on American Idol, who would want to be lied to about that. Can you bear those singers who clearly can't sing; I don't think Hollywood is ready for that.

I think he's right most of the time, its better to be that way, instead of giving people false hope. If I was a judge I would have a hard time talking the way he does, but I know I would want to. Some of them are horrible.
I like Simon, and Paula and Randy and hope they don't split up, as rumor has it.

Sometimes he is. But most of the time he's just saying what we're all thinking, and you cant deny that you would say that too (if you had the guts to say it bluntly to someone's face, I dont think I would). But other times, when he makes unneccessary comments on someone's appearance, I think thats crossing the line. He's there to judge their singing, not how they look. And yes, the reason he is so "mean" is because of the ratings-- he gets paid to do it.

I think he can be rude at times, and sometimes the things he says are uncalled for. But if it wasn't for him, the show wouldn't have half as much success as it does. He's just being honest. But, basically, I think he's funny. He's my favorite judge by far.

He is just a straight forward person and doesnt like to mince his words.

At the end of the day people put themselves to be judged, so no one should complain when an opinion is given.
