I like to know how blacks really feel deep down about their history. In China and Europe the people had a "high" level of history. Many buildings are saved and very proud people since they have been ahead of the rest of the world. But when i read about black peoples history i read a few bad things. In chains across the atlantic, and no real history to brag about in Africa.
How do black people feel about their history? Did i miss something vital or are you more or less history. :-)

Ok i think we all kno what you are getting at but remember not all blacks were slaves and one of the bigest misconceptions about Africa is that it is completly plauged by poverty, Africa is the richest continent when it comes to resources. Black history and culture is very rich, slavery was jus a misfortunate mishap and like everyone who have ever been wronged i think we as black people will forever feel some malice towards whites because there was never really an apology or any sort of reparations to make things right. Slavery is NOT all to our history and lets face it, it was mainly the earning of slavery that built the UK so how proud can the English really feel?

I'm not ashamed! Wow, all i can say is wow! Did you learn anything in BLACK HISTORY MONTH! I mean we have a MONTH and what does your culture have? WE invented so many things that are used today, girl! How dare you take pity on us! Hello, we have a 'high level' of history. Do you know any black leaders, no you don't! Oh, and you missed a lot of things. Martin Luther King Jr. he's a person who is important in history. Yes history doesn't have to be from the 1200s or even AD 200, history could even be from even yesterday. Since this is Black History month why don't you research something about black people. I mean, gosh you must be stupid or something, no offense.

All i know is that you are a very ignorant person and i mean that!

>Hey, i don't know any special month or year that celebrates China's history? Besides Chinese New Years! Do you know? And did you know that we have a HOLIDAY on Martin Luther King Jr's birthday. We don't go to school on that day!>

Sheesh someone, this girl, needs to open her eyes for once, please!

Have a wonderful and try to stay away from being ignorant!

I'm not ashamed at all. And history is just that, history. What does bragging do for anyone? What are YOU doing now that is so important? Yes, many Africans were enslaved. I'm not ashamed of that. That is part of my people's history but that doesn't prevent me from being a person who can have an impact on the present. To be quite honest, global warming, the Holocaust, and killing 95% of the Aztec population aren't things I would brag about. But good or bad, why brag about things YOU had nothing to do with?

First off, there is more to Black history than chains and slavery. "no real history to brag about in Africa" where do you get off saying this? Our history is just as great and important as the Chinese and Europe! If you are Chinese, i'm sure it is easier for you to know more about your history because you are a majority. In America, Blacks are a minority, so there's not statues and portriats of Blacks almost everywhere you go. For Black history month, we get Febuary, the most shortest month of the year! Testbooks only have a few chapters on Black history, which is usually the Slave trade and the Civil Rights Movement. Anyway, I think your statement in biased, You just think about the negative aspect of Black history, I have nothing to be ashamed of. I am Proud of My History! Thank you!

Not to be rude, but why do white people and asian people think so much about this stuff? It's all over Answers, just look it up. Your question sounds like you're looking down and what kind of people brag about their race in the first place? Not very humble at all. None of these races would have even existed if not for the Black race being on this earth first. I don't care what anyone thinks of me. I only answer to God.

We are not ashamed, and often look back in time for hope. In essence, we were robbed of our history, most of us cannot go that far back in time with our own family history or anthing like that. I know nothing of my ancestors, where in Africa they are from or anything.
We have created our own history and culture here in America.

Of course they feel bad about themselves. Look at how they act. No people on earth have suffered like the american blacks, so how can you say or judge how they should be or feel?
