I've decided to be a Computer Science major at the University of California, San Diego, but I'm a little confused about the difference between the BA and BS.

Yes, they are offering both BA and BS for Computer Science.

The Arts refers to those branches of learning, such as language, literature and history, associated with creative skill as opposed to the scientific, technical or vocational skills.
The BS degree usually has the Major field appended.

Are the offering a BA AND a BS for Computer Science? Usually you get a BS or a BA based on your major. For example, a degree inmathematics would be a Bachelor of Science, but a degree in Philosophy would be a Bachelor of Arts. Typically they only offer one for each major.
