Somehow I ended up in the restaurant business and I don't mind it for the most part, but I feel trapped. I did not go to school for it, but still hope to have another occupation in the next 5 years.

RN - specializing in Mother Infant nursing for almost 30 years.
I like the work with the patients - helping them learn about taking care of their babies. That part is great.
The politics of it all - the games we have to play for "governing" agencies - the paperwork - drives me (and most of my co-workers) crazy. They make the demands overwhelming and treat us in a way that can be demeaning.
It's sad - but hospital nursing is all about the $$$$$$$$$

Love it-----it's a career that has lots of options
--can work in a multitude of settings: hospital, school, private practice, go into people's home
--can work with a variety of populations: eldery, stroke victims, brain injured, school age kids, stutterers, singers, voice problems, preschoolers, infants....
--variety of specialities: swallowing disorders (among babies and adults), stuttering, language based disorders, speech intelligibility disorders...
--easy to work under a boss or to become your own boss
--has the potential for flexible hours to accomodate other aspects of your life (children, etc)

painting contractor, coin dealer, autobody expert, and gold smith. I like them all. I have another 4 jobs, but can only handle at the very most, 4 jobs at a time. I love all my jobs.
