Occasionallly I get a message : Virtual memory low

norton sucks, so you might still have a virus, but the main reason is probably too many processes. close them down and if it helps considerably, then you should remove the from startup.

Virtual memory low means you have a memory leak, and that is part of your problem.
However, just because you "have Norton" does NOT mean you do not have a virus any more than going to the hospital guarntees you will live. Probably the best "fix" for both of these problems is to reformat and reload the operating system. If you have the original operating system CD's fortunately that is not too dificult, altho it is time consuming as it takes a couple hours normally.

it is probably norton that is slowing your laptop down, unfortunately it is very heavy on your system resourses, you should consider changing from it to another program that wont slow you up so much, i would reccomend avast home edition, it is fast and also its free, get it from www.avast.com
