"You watch the ball, but there is no way to actually see the raquet make contact with the ball and be successful. Anyone who says different is full of ****." - Messtograves
And that's why Federer and other top pros are playing Professional tennis and Messtograves is not. Always, always keep your eyes on the ball until it hits the strings. Baseball players are the same, they keep their eyes on the ball until it hits the bat. If you can, record any tennis match or baseball game. Use slow motion and pay attention to the tennis player that is hitting the ball. Watch where their eyes are looking at when the ball hits the strings. Or watch where the baseball player eyes are when their bats make contact with the ball.

You watch the ball, but there is no way to actually see the raquet make contact with the ball and be successful. Anyone who says different is full of ****. Federer does everything so deliberately you can rally see what I mean , his head is down measures the speed and where the contact should be lifts his head right before contact and gets back into the play. The return of serves today most of the guys are taking a best guess approach to where the ball is on the returns. They can not possibly see the ball hit the strings. I have heard other coaches say to watch the ball hit the strings and I have always said to myself , what a waste of money for the student.

Although it is impossible to see the ball at contact, you should still concentrate and look at the ball when hitting to be a consistent player.
Sometimes u can even see the spin applied on it when it is coming to you!

NEVER! Take your eyes off the ball. Follow the ball on the strings of your racket. Sometimes people will take their eyes off the balls just prior to hitting it and that's why they miss very badly. After your ball leaves your racket, please look away, because if you keep looking at your racket you will miss the next shot.
