when you meet them in a bar or out some where you can at least see them and make your own judgment on weather or not you should go off with them, not saying your judgment will always be right.. If you meet them online they could be lying about all sorts of things to get you to meet them and it clouds your judgment.

There's something about face to face meetings that provide us with more insight into that person. We can see their facial expressions and hear their vocal inflections, and that alone tells us a lot about people.

That said, it IS possible to meet good people online. You just have to be more keen and more aware of how people misrepresent themselves online. I went on two dates with two different guys that I met online. The first guy was nice enough, but he liked to bite when kissing, and I'm not into that. The second guy . . . well, we met three and a half years ago, and he's currently sleeping on the couch. :)

I personaly have not ever met anyone in the RW that I have seen online. But I do not see anything wrong with the idea. In fact I think that it could be a good way to get toknow each other before the actual date in the RW

as with any meeting, both parties should be careful by meeting in a public location and getting to know each other before letting them know where you live or work and so forth. Unfortunately you have to assume there is a possibiltiy for the worst and yet hope for the best so you can have an enjoyable time.

I would say its a bad idea... only because you don't know this man and everything about him could be a lie... a set up... its dangerous. If you wanted to lose it that bad, the best thing would have been to go out of town for spring break... go out clubbing or something and sleep with a really hot guy... it's not that hard. Good luck with that though and be SAFE.. please!

over the net, you dont even know if they're really the person in those pictures that they sent to you. Plus a lot of people are NOT who they say they are on the internet.

If you just happen to meet someone at the bar you really see them, and if your attracted to them or not.

You never know who or what you are meeting.

Anybody can lie online and say they are a Brad Pitt lookalike and then in real life they look like the Elephant Man.

In a bar or a club at least you get an idea of what they look like or sound like.

It's easier to make judgements on people when you see the way they act, talk, and dress. All those things represent their personality and may at times lead to misjudgement. But when you talk to someone over the internet there is no way you can tell who they are and there is no reason to trust them. Always be careful, rather safe than sorry.

The Unknown is what most of us are afraid of.
My cousin and his wife have met other couples on line and have enjoyed the friendships they have made. If you are single, you must be cautious. You know yourself, that a person can be anyone they want to be over the Internet.

The reason is because when you meet someone online, they may not be who they say they are. One can easily get a picture of a thirteen year old girl and display that in there public profile and claim to be a teenage girl living in the states with her parents, when it reality, it could be a 40 year old perverted single man living in Canada looking to hook up with other teenage girls.
