You need to know the voltage, so if you are in North America with 115 volts ...
1500 Watts is15 Amps in round numbers.
1500 Watts / 115 Volts = 13.04 Amps
... divide by your voltage if you have a different voltage.

Sure, depending on what else you're trying to run at the same time. A 30 amp service equals 3600 Watts. The electric skillet draws 12.5 amps. The big problem comes in the summer if you're trying to run the AC. The AC pulls 20 amps, so it would have to be off while using the skillet.

Try this conversion calculation example. I ain't no scientist so don't ask me if it's the proper one. Here goes -
Convert Watts to AMPS:
AMPS = Watts / Voltage
I = P ÷ E
Example:
2,300 WATTS = 2300w divided by 120v = 19.1 AMPS .
If you're on 240v, just substitute the 120v figure with 240v.
