Of course, I'm single, again. And I'm sick of wearing black & calling in sick to work, again. So I'm thinking of buying myself a diamond necklace! If you asked me where I got my necklace and I told you, " I bought it for myself for Valentine's Day," would you think I was pathetic? How about if I sent myself flowers? At work? I'm kidding, even I know how lame THAT is.

I am single as well and I don't think it's lame to buy yourself something. But a diamond necklace? That seems a bit much. Buy that for your birthday or just in general to celebrate life, but not valentine's day. There is nothing wrong with being alone on that day. Been there, done that. You are beautiful and it does not matter what anyone else thinks.

Please don't let Hallmark run the world and how everyone thinks. We don't have to be sad if we're single on Valentine's Day. Buy yourself whatever you want but you certainly don't have to do it to indulge yourself on Valentine's Day. Plus if you buy it then, the retailers will make sure that the price is jacked up accordinly. So wait until afterwards, go to a good diamond wholesaler and have it made up for half the price of a necklace in a good jewellery store.

Then at work, say nothing about your little trinket. Just smile slyly like you've stuffed yourself with your fav. chocolate and bonked George Clooney the previous evening.

Enjoy yourself,

(A married woman who's had loads of Valentine's presents esp. from men she wasn't interested in ... and is happy just being herself - however corny that may be)

No, it's not lame. We all need a little pick me up. I do this too...especially at Christmas when thinks get hectic. I diamond necklace, to me, seems extreme though. I would say something not quite as pricey for yourself and let the right guy buy you, when the time comes, the diamonds.

textile issues shouldn't avert a courting. It should not be about what to purchase and what no longer to purchase, yet extra about why are you determining to purchase. You seem very positive, yet you do not pick to purchase some thing for him so don't experience so accountable. Why could a courting relax on one particular day in a year? i imagine val's day is dumb in that appreciate. the position human beings straight away experience obligated to instruct 'love' to at least one yet another. perhaps only flow out to a positive dinner or resturaunt and only relax with one yet another., i'd like that better than $400 jeans anyday. no matter if $400 dollar jeans are positive too (haha) sturdy luck,, your bf is extremely fortunate. i wish he's popular with that.

Buying yourself a gift is not lame. But flaunting your self-gifts it at work is not the most advisable thing, like flowers.

You want the necklace buy it just because you want it and can afford it. Like a kid do you wait to buy a dress you like until there is a holiday?

Adults buy because they can afford to buy. They don't need to justify enjoying the hard earned money they have.

No way! Indulge yourself. If you can lift your own mood, that's great. I'm usually single on Valentine's [I did have a boyfriend last year] but I absolutely love it. It's a day about commercial love, and if you love yourself, show it! [I always get myself something for Valentine's.]

You should treat yourself to something nice every once in awhile :)

I don't think I'd go as far as a diamond necklace, but go for it!

I don't care, its only lame if you think it is, everything is relative. If a necklace or flowers make you feel good, good for it!

of course not!!!!! who told you that!?!?!?! we need to pamper ourselves sometimes, especially when we are down. go ahead and splurge. but i suggest you dont tell the entire world. most people dont understand these things and its good gossip. im so sorry for u. i kno how you feel. if u do send flowers, put 'from ur secret admirer'. no one will suspect you. watch a good movie or two also.
