i need help writing songs?

i need inspriation for songs i wrote alot of songs but sometimes i feel draned and i never write any songs for 6 months or more then 6 months. I have been writing songs since i was 11 and know im 13 and i have writin really good songs but should i write songs about my ex boyfriend and my new one what do you think?

i write songs about my mother and father when they got a divorced and i wrote about my ex but i never wrote about my current bf and i have alot of good ideas but i dont know how to put in words

You should write about what ever you feel. Not like all these new rap groups and such talking about things that they dont have or never experienced. A song tells a story , good or bad. write from your heart. Dont be so hard on yourself im sure the things you write are good. it doesnt matter that you write about both your ex boyfriend or current one. these are your feelings and you have a way in letting them out by song.

i write songs too....but doesn't everyone right about their ex's? why not right about something different, there are inspirations all around you...but song writers find a way to look at them completely different than normal people....and i get a lot of inspirations from art, and reading....but not everyone is meant for song writing..im not saying you arent cause i dont know the first thing about you...but i hope this helped you

Should you? That's up to you and your inspiration. If you're like me you only come up with the lyrics and music when you least expect it or when the song is already in you waiting to come out, give it time and eventually it will come to you.

Try wearing a shirt of theirs or thinking about them most the day ... might help you get what you need for inspiration
