Its great to look back on this. You be suprised how one person can change you without you even realizing it until later.

My memories are based on a balance approach.

I remember the sad and turbulent times, which were very hard

But than you have the happy times. To remember when you first met, kissed cried out of laughter and felt incredibly secure together.

Makes you think back and say "That was a beautiful time of my life"

suddenly, the happy times outweight the sad times

so a balance is good. Dwelling on the past will sink you deeper but its the happy times that bring a smile and an occassional tear from your eyes.

cheers

I use to look back with some fond memories, but now that I really know the difference between a successful relationship and the past relationships, I don't see much good in them, though I have no regrets because I feel the past helps me appreciate what I have now even more.

I am thankful - I can remember both the good and the bad.
Don't want to remember only the good - then you wished you still had them. Don't want to remember only the bad - then you think they were the devil and/or that you were really stupid to have ever cared for them!

Alot of times it is just the bad things, so I tend not to even look back, because there are reasons they are ex's, right? =)

it depends, if i still have feelings for him, i will remember the bad things(its for the forgetting stage), and if i don't feel nothing, i will remember all the good memories...
