I have wondered why is the Super Bowl played at a Neutral Site and is not like the NFL Championship where it was played at either the AFC or NFC Conference Championship home stadium.

The location is determined well in advance of the season. It's been coincidence so far that the home team has not made the Super Bowl when the game is at their stadium.

Super Bowl locations have been decided through the 2009 season.

If Miami had made the the Super Bowl this year, it still would have been played in Miami.

Um, it is the NFL Championship.

The conference title games are played at the site of the highest seed left (was not originally when the two conferences were formed) but the Super Bowl is always at a neutral site.

It's not neccessarily a neutral site. the site of the superbowl is on a list for the coming years. Any team is able to play in their own stadium. For example, last year's was at the Silverdome. If they Detroit didn't suck, then they would have a chance to play on their home turf.

They play at a neutral site so that neither team has the advantage of being at home! Plus if they played at either home stadium the home team would totally know the field to well!! Duh!!

Because if the people are all gonna be cheering for 1 team then the other team feels discouraged and that will affect the game scores.
