The above who mentioned history of closet gay (hiding in the closet so to speak) are right, it is also the place where you hide your skeletons/secrets.

I hide some of my old secret things I don't want people to see in the closet! Nothing comes out of my closet without my help, thank-god and I have no secret's like that!

They never told anyone they were gay before so they finally are admitting that they are gay and they are coming out as new person.

isn't it when someone has been hiding (as if hiding in the closet )there true identity and all of a sudden there ready to share what they really are( coming out of the closet)????

Because they are hiding who they are and then when they tell someone it is like coming out of the closet because they have hidden so long who they really are. =)

because they are admitting to something they know deep down is a sin and they should keep it in the closet where it doesnt belong either.
