They don't use condoms when they should

I think its lack of education about the disease as its only in certain parts of south Africa and certain cultures. Some cultures don't believe in using Condoms and that could also be a reason.
India is worse than South Africa with the Aids problem thttp://www.hopeforaids.org/country.asp?ID=13he , have a look on this website.
This is worrying fact in life.

This may not be true - I suspect India is now the AIDS capital of the world.
But.
A lot of African people are kinda "itinerant". Don't think old victorian geography textbooks, they just move around more than some other people - think long-haul truck-drivers.
The disease moves with the people. Plus, they have less access to medical care (in general) so may not be as aware as more western-style countries.

Since the end of white rule in South Africa,the country has predictably began its spiral back to the stone age like all other former african colonies.
The spread of aids is no surprise.No doubt the former colonists and white south africans will be providing them with money and medicine.

the Dark Continent has seen some, if not more
human misery & human degradation than u'd find in the so called civilised West.
the fact that most south African countries have been at war with themselves 4 decades.
& the awful rape figures, coupled with Witch-doctor lies that Aids can b cured by having sex with a virgin!
spreading the virus around even further.

Statistically they do but which other countries in Africa do not submit such accurate records.China and India have large infected populations but do not supply records.
Ignorance and lack of intelligence plus not using a condom all add up.

because of the cultural backwardness and lack of condom awareness or on the flip side
maybe because they are not as sexually repressed
as Europe and the USA is
but whatever don't worry they suffer dreadfully for it
I have been numerous times and it's very very sad

I remember hearing somewhere that there is a belief that if a man who has AIDS sleeps with a virgin that can make it go away. (Of course this is not true.) There is a lot of rape there. And being that it is predominantly Catholic, birth control is a no-no.

not enough education on the consequences of all the sex they are having so freely.If we want to really help these people we should send a boatload of birth control and educators along with the food and other things we give them.
