I am certainly old enough to use these words, except that I really never had a day. I had a moment or two, but never a whole day just for me. That would be a great idea, however, for every person to have his or her day. It would be like the old " This is your life" TV Show. Mr. Phil O'Dendron, Come on down! This is your day! Every dog has his day, why not us. My dad used to talk about how tough things were back in the depression, and I am sure they were. He constantly reminded me that I was a part of a softer and more spoiled generation, which probably was true. Back in his day, a quarter, or a nickel meant something, and nothing was to be wasted. I still retain some of the things I learned from my father's "back in his day" homilies. My wife who is younger calls me a child of the depression and a tightwad when I try to spend a little less and save a little more.

we had so much snow in the winter, we sometimes had to dig our way out the front door after a bad storm, and people sometimes would drive snowmobiles down the street! also, i remember having one time where we had 70 below temp with windchill. right now we are having a cold snap( 35 below with wind chill and its the coldest its been in 17 years) the weather has changed so much in 30 years!
