A friend of mine has these green rubber attchments to her gutter down spouts that catch the water from the spout and roll out into the yard to distribute the water evenly through holes in the rubber, instead of a mad rush of water in one spot. When the catcher is empty they roll back up. She can't remember where she got them or what they are called. She's had them for years. Please help!!

May I recommend a different approach?

You can get this black corrugated plastic pipe that has a fitting that works with guttering.

I don't use an elbow at the end of the downspout, I just put the fitting on and pop the pipe on to the fitting. I allow the pipe to run the one or two feet to the ground and out away from the foundation.

The material is cheap, usually around $ .50 a foot and the fittings are usually less than $2 a piece. Looks great too.

If interested, email me at Yahoo, a_kansan, and I'll send you a picture if you like.

Good Luck

i remember something to that effect..... it was more like a plastic sleeve, crimped at the end with holes giving you a sprinkler effect. i have never heard of them or anything else, rolling themselves back up?? must have some slinky in it. but think? how much water pressure would be needed to force it to unroll? or is it extending??? never the less go look at her rain catcher, you may get luck and find a manufactures name somewhere on it. good luck.
