The 9/11 attacks were a criminal act based on political motives. No religion condones that kind of barbaric activity. This is why the rhetoric regarding Islam must be put into a proper context....~~~~W

Superficially, you might say that they were fanatics except that devout Muslims claim that their religion is a peaceable one -- that is debatable... Al Qaeda's members, it seems to me, (as well as other Islamic terrorists) are simply very angry and vicious men who use their professed fundamentalism as a "righteous" rationalization for what they are doing or want to do. As for the 9/11 group who were residing in the U. S: Some of their behavior most probably was designed to avoid suspicion by authorities; from that standpoint they would be less likely to draw attention to themselves if they were leading a secular existence. And then, perhaps, knowing their futures, their impending suicides, perhaps they were not so certain as they might have claimed that those 72 virgins would actually be awaiting them in paradise, so wished to partake of earthly pleasures while those were still available to them!!

Who knows how the mind of a suicide bomber works. They are just trying to get to heaven to the 72 virgins awaiting them.....right! You know that's what they believe right? They are crazy religious fanatics, yes.

Uh, they were not exactly nice people, they were murdering thugs. I got a book with a cover showing Jesus on a horse trampling the bodies of women and children muslims from one of the creeps who supported what they did after I'd written an item about it without once mentioning Islam.

Hmmm... interesting question.
So, if you knew you were going to run a 747 into a building in a week, what would you be doing in your final hours before that?
Obviously what they were doing was not following Muslim teachings, but their mind set is so bizarre that hardly seems out of place.
