Every time I put in the correct time, a few hours later, my PC will change the time so it is TWO HOURS BEHIND. This is an incredible inconvience. This is happening to my COMPAQ Windows XP desktop and my FUJITSU Windows XP laptop. Any advice anyone?

XP has the ability to automatically set the time using one of the "time servers" on the Internet.

Your time zone is set wrong on both machines.

Change the time Zone in the OS, and your computers will start setting the time correctly.

You also want to install all the updates form Windows Update, as the change in Daylight Savings time will cause a hole slew of issues for US users.

Hi, This problem can be due to 3 reasons.
Reason 1: First problem may be with the batter on your mother board. This is called the CMOS battery. If you can change the battery, i feel your problem is solved. It does not cost too much. Something less than one dollar.
Reason 2: The time zone is not set properly. Let us say if you are in INDIA, then the time zone is GMT + 5.30. So, depending on where you stay, you need to set your time zone. You can do this by double clicking on the space where the time is displayed.
Reason 3: If it is a network system, then the server time is reflected.
Reason 4: If the above four are all right, then i suspect there is virus on your system which is controlling the time zone. I faced this issue many a time. Check the above resolutions and let me know. All the best

Is your computer set to automatically synchronize with an internet server? Go to the Internet Time tab in the Date and Time Properties box, then check that the option to sync is unchecked - or just set the correct Time Zone.

Sounds like you have the wrong time zone set. Where you go to change the time there is a Time Zone tab at the top - click it and choose the correct zone.

You should just have to double click the clock in the task bar and it will open a dialog box, then click the "time zone" tab and set it then click ok.
