Absolutely. And I reckon, although this may just be a result of my upbringing, that standing in front of Tesco's fish counter holding a spear would be much more lucrative than standing in a small stream holding a tenner. But since it might depend on your upbringing, there's a fair chance that many people in Papua New Guinea would disagree with you.In fact, there's a fair chance that many people in Moss Side,Easterhouse or Toxteth would disagree with your colonialist mentality too.

The meaning of life isn't to make things 'easy' on yourself. It feels great winning a challenge, and to be able to support and feed your family by fishing or hunting for the food truly proves worth. They don't have to deal with traffic jams, the price of petrol, standing in lines, etc. Maybe the simple way of life is worth it. Life shouldn't be easy all the time - it wouldn't be worth living if it were.

Well....it's like the dog who is tied to his doghouse for his entire life, and only fed sh#t sandwiches. If the dog has only known the taste of a sh#t sandwich, he's probably going to think to himself" Dang, now that's a good sh#t sandwich". So the moral of this story is...........don't get tied to the d@mn doghouse!

Fear of the unknown and lack of understanding on how modern advancements can change their lives. Keep in mind, they have to understand how something can benefit them first, before it becomes a practical application. For example...why give tribal person a can opener...if they don't have any cans? ; )

ask them...
but it is up to them so if they are happy that way leave them be, right? or maybe they are poor. think about all the little indian and african etc kids who are poor they dont choose to live that way, they have no other option. another reason is that they are born into that family.

Those who do not learn from their mistakes, are doomed to endlessly repeat them.
It is all down to the evolution of human intelligence, unfortunately.
