transport and translocation in plants

When certain plants grow they expand into occupied space and envelope an existing plant (roots, stems, leaves, etc), and use it for nutrients etc; done because they get in their way. They relocate plants in that way, and also move across themselves, expanding and spreading to an area where they can grow better. Weeds often grow around a plant, assimilate it and then choke it to death, like a vampire it drains the plant of it's nutrients to survive, and using the nutrients of the plant it can adapt to grow better in place of that plant. When it takes in these nutrients this is assimilation. Plants assimilate lots of nutrients from their surroundings in order to grow and to maintain internal conditions.
