I want to get my ears pierced (one on each ear) but my parents aren't big on the idea. My dad thinks that one ear is acceptable but two looks a little ridiculous, but truthfully doesn't want me to get either; my mom doesn't want me to get it at all. My girlfriend has been urging me to get them because she thinks it will look cute, and I've grown more accepting of the idea, especially because I take notice of how many celebrity men and normal men I see wearing them. What do you think I should do, and ladies, do you think guys with earrings (not one, but two) are cuter, hotter, or more attractive? Even if your answer is a repeat, I'd like to read it. Thanks!

In response to one of the answers, my girlfriend's your typical abercrombie girl so it would probably mostly diamonds or maybe occasionally a hoop..nothing punkish or gages.

Your situation with your parents & girlfriend about getting your ear pierced is exactly what happen to me.
My girlfriend really wanted me to get an earring in both ears. At first I really wasn't sure that I should do it. I went back & forth about it & finally decided it would be cool to pierce both ears & surprised my girlfriend & got it done.
After my parents saw my new earrings, they really werre not very pleased. They didn't like them, but they were very cool & didn't tell me to take them out.
It has been about six months, now I have a silver hoop in each ear & I totally love having it. If you really want to get it done, I strongly recommend doing it.

Wearing one earing looks silly.
Wear two if you are going to. Symmetry is important for appearance.
Make sure to go to a reputable piercing along, and not something in a mall. Do some research before getting the procedure done, both on the piercing itself, care and maintenance of the piercing, but also on the place you are having it done.
Opening up you skin makes you extremely vulnerable to infection. It should only be done by a trained professional, and on someone who is ready to take care of the piercing.

Gage is simply a measurement of the diameter of the jewelry. All jewelry is measured in gages. By saying not gages I assume you mean the jewelry you intend to purchase will be along the lines of 20-22 gage (smaller diameter)

My sons both went thru this also. I agreed as long as it was one ear and not real dangley. As a woman, I like the one ear diamond stud, small hoop on a man, but 2 ears is just too much.I grew up in a "his and hers" world, so one is his and two is hers. But know that if you do both and don't like it, just take one out and it will grow closed, how long it takes depends on how long you wore an earring in it. Good luck!

It goes with your attitude. If you are gonna see having your ears pierced as a big deal then don't do it. I've got both ears pierced but it's not a big issue for me. Basically, if, for the rest of your life, you're gonna walk down the street thinking 'I am a guy with earrings' then don't do it. It's creepy when guys do that.

Oke Doke, here we go. I can speak from experience on this one. I got it done for love, many many moons ago. It hasn't hurt me one iota. Most girls I know like them. Some don't. You must realize, the girl whose pressuring you to do this, probably won't be with you the rest of your life. So, if YOU want them, do it. But don't do it just because of her influence. It really depends on the cultural norms of the place you live. If you live in a large urban area, go for it, you won't look out of place if you do. If you are from small-town-usa or the suburbs, I'd say wait until you are further along in your life, 'cause the grief you are going to get won't be worth it. For the record, both of my parents hated them when I got them, but they just got used to them. I wear diamond studs, not too blingy, but just right. It's all about quality and proportion. You probably aren't a rap star, so you shouldn't get a giant diamond (or diamond-like) stud. You really have to have the attitude to pull it off. It helps if you have a high profile job, though, like me. Ta.

Definitely, one earring from my perspective looks a lot cooler. Only person I know that pull off two is Montel Williams. Bottom line is you do whatever you feel comfortable with, especially if you are thinking none at all. Don't let your girlfriend influence your decisions about anything !! Seriously !!

Well one is okay but two is a little over the top! If you have just one diamond earring will look great!

it depends what you look like without them. one of my closest friends has both done (he's serb, thin as a board, and pretty fine to be honest), most of the time he wears two diamond studs, it looks gorgeous, and it really is a good look for him, then again, a few guys around ive seen who have both simply look like tools. if you're really built, have super short hair, stocky, or large, trust me, its not a good look. but hey it looks pretty hot on thin, athletic guys (im generalizing here). and really if you dont like them after you get them done, theres no reason why you cant take them out and let them heal over (providing they've been peirced properly, they wont scarr)
hope that helps

well personally i love guys with earrings. but not studs or anything like posts or normal earrings. i love the gages and you didnt mention that so im guessing theyre not gages but in that case i dont think it looks cute at all and i think it looks really gangster which i'm not into, no offense. so if you are getting studs, i would advise you not to do it.
