No one wants a disease. Plus in this day in age not many women are willing to be the 3rd wife or the 23rd wife no matter what it says in their religion. I know I would never marry someone who already has a wife(s).

The government is involved because marriage is a state sponsored institution. We're talking taxes, children, spousal benefits, etc.

Marrying 25 wives is one thing...making sure you can support the children of these 25 women without taxpayer money is another thing. Would you file income taxes jointly with your 25 wives? If something happens to you, which wife and which children would be your beneficiary? Which ones get your salary, pension and/or insurance money? What happens to the rest? Do the 25 women and their 25+ children split your salary equally? Are all 25 wives equal or will their be "senior" wives? What if you are on life support? Who makes the decision to pull the plug? Wife #1 or wife #19? Who decides that? You? The wives? The state?

Too complicated. One wife and one family is complex enough.

Lets look at the feasabilty of having 25 wives.

1- Can you find jobs for them all.

2- If you have 25 wives and two children with each and it doesn't work out can you afford to pay child support for that many children.

3- Are there actually 25 woman out there that would want to marry you.

4- What would you do if they all became premenstrual at the same time?

5- What will you do on "A girls night out"?

6- What if the all wanted to go shopping at the same time?

7- Suppose you came home and gave one of them a dozen roses, but not the other 24. Are you ready for the accusations of "You like her better, or How come I never get a dozen roses? Or its not your and her anniversary you idiot those roses should have been for me!"

The law barring polygamy does not interfere with your beliefs. You are free to beleive that you can have as many wives as your religion permits. You can even leave this country and pratice this in a country that allows polygamy. But while you are in the united states you may have one wife at a time and 24 mistresses.

The only problem you have with the laws of the government interfering with those of the church is because you can't marry 25 women?
When you grow up and realise that is NOT the issue here, pose that question again and you may get a logical and civilized answer.

Our country was founded on christian principles. Which mean the bible is our guide. Our country is trying to change and our morals less and less but the fact remains we were founded on Christian morals. God made one man for one woman. One woman is enough for any man. It is going to take the rest of your life to get to know her and be pleasing to her and visa versa. The more women you have you can not totally satisfy all those women. The bottom line is most of them are being neglected and used for what you want. That is not a marriage. A marriage is a two way street; not one way.

Doesn't your religion say that you must love each wife the same? Don't see how that is possible.
